Many of the best places to stay on Bra\u010d are in or around the island\u2019s pretty towns of Supetar and Bol. However, there are also some lovely places to stay in the rocky interior. The best hotels are the converted farmhouses and villas, which have that real Mediterranean feel. One of its most famous landmarks is the long, white sandy spit called Zlatni Rat, just outside the town of Bol. The spit stretches right into the spectacular Adriatic Sea. Bra\u010d also has steep cliffs in places and small, peaceful ports and villages, plus pine forests, vineyards and olive groves, and fig, cherry and almond orchards. So there\u2019s no shortage of beautiful scenery and countryside to explore. The town of Supetar has an historic core of central streets which lead out from the harbour and the views of Split and the mountains behind are quite something. There\u2019s also a nice church and pleasant cafes, bars and restaurants. Bol has a bit more glamour: its small stone houses and winding streets are arranged around a compact but lovely marina.<\/p><p>The\u00a0<strong>Blaca monastery<\/strong>\u00a0was built in front of the cave \u201cLjubitovica\u201d below high cliffs. Blaca carries a great heritage value. The monastery surprises its visitors in this desert wilderness and harmony delights of its original architecture.<\/p><p><strong>Vidova Gora<\/strong>, the highest mountain of all Adriatic islands (778 m above the sea level). The view on famous Zlatni Rat beach is spectacular!<\/p><p><strong>Donji Humac<\/strong> is one of the oldest settlements on the Croatian island of Bra\u010d, about 2 kilometers from Nerezisca, the previous capital of the island and home of Brac\u2019s aristocracy. \u00a0The village is wonderfully rustic and unspoiled, surrounded by countryside, the villagers still enjoying the traditional island way of life.<\/p><p><strong>Gallery and Stone Cutter\u2019s Workshop of Family Jaksic.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Among the numerous families dealing with the stone shaping trade in Donji Humac, the Jaksic family is one of the most famous. The tradition of stone shaping has been preserved at Brac by transferring from father to son.\u00a0 See family artwork from villas, tombstones, sacral buildings, public buildings, monuments, sculptures, fountains, restoration.<\/p><p><strong>Zlatni Rat Beach.<\/strong>\u00a0The paradise beach Zlatni rat is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Croatian coastline and at the same time the most representative panorama of Bol. It was created by deposits of fine pebbles as sediment around the underwater reef, spreading as a small tongue as much as 500 metres into the sea. The very tip of Zlatni rat keeps changing its shape constantly due to the influence of winds, waves and sea currents, making it appear different and repeatedly interesting. This location is a protected natural area and a favorite spot for surfers and kite-surfers from around the globe. Zlatni rat beach is only 2 km from Bol. You can reach the beach either by car or by a 20-minute walk along the sea.
